Rustang Revived
The restoration of a 1968 Ford Mustang. It was found on a farm by our customer Jeff — completely rusted out — and sent to us for a full engine, interior and exterior restoration.
The Story
From Farm Find to Finished
We disassembled the car, assessed every panel, ordered everything it needed and rebuilt it stage by stage. Follow the whole process below.
Step 01
The Farm Find
This Mustang was found on a farm by our customer Jeff. When he purchased it, he realized the car was completely rusted out, so he sent it to us for a full restoration.
Step 02
Teardown & Assessment
First, we disassembled the car so we could assess the condition of the car and get an idea of what parts needed to be replaced. We then ordered all the parts we need so we could do a full engine, interior, and exterior restoration.
Step 03
Rust Removal & New Metal
We then sanded down all the panels that were saveable to remove the rust and welded new metal pieces to panels that were too badly rusted.
Step 04
Epoxy Primer & Undercoat
We epoxy primed and undercoated the car
Step 05
Mechanical Refresh
We replaced the fuel tank, brakes, and replaced many engine components and hoses
Step 06
Body Work
Next we focused on the body work to get the car ready for painting
Step 07
Paint
Next, we sent it off to get painted
Step 08
The Interior
Then we completely redid the whole interior, adding insulation, heat shielding, and reupholstering everything
Step 09
The Finished Build
The finished project was nothing short of incredible
